Subject: Fake "Windows for Data" for Mac?

We have an application based on "Windows for Data", a DOS/Unix window manager.
It seems possible to implement versions of the WFD calls that actually call
the Mac Toolbox routines.  Has anyone done anything like this?

Also, any advice about efficiently/gracefully migrating an applcation into the 
Mac world would be much appreciated.  Thanks in advance.
