I can get a fairly good price on a Volksmodem and one from Practical Peripherals. (I hope that I got those names right). The Practical Peripherals cost $20 more. My friend will probably use Procomm (and perhaps Kermit) but may want to use other communications programs. My questions are: Should I avoid either of these two modems? and, if the answer to the first question is no, Is there any reason to prefer one over the other?
