I get the impression from looking at the IBM manuals that IBM is somewhat embarrassed by the success of VM/CMS, and is trying to slowly phase it out or merge it with MVS... BLETCH! IBM already has two top-heavy, poorly-designed OS's, and wants to make an even more top-heavy poorly-designed OS? Now I know the heritage of OS/2 (half-OS) :-(. Hard to believe that IBM can have an operating system ten times more complex than Unix V7, with 1/10th the power and elegance.
