I just discovered that DU version 3.4 has a bug when the -a option is used:
if you specify a nonexistent directory, it claims that the directory
contains no files but uses 311 MEGS!

E:\>du -a foo
319295064  311812.0K     foo

This value is repeatable on different drives with different sizes.
