Keywords: Device names Message-ID: <3505@enea.se> Date: 15 Jun 88 08:50:38 GMT Reply-To: tope@enea.se (Tommy Petersson) Organization: ENEA DATA AB, Sweden Lines: 16 I have an Amiga 2000 with one internal and one external floppy drive plus a Rodime SCSI hard disk. The hard disk automatically gets the name dh2: and the external floppy gets the name df2:. This sometimes creates problems not so easily avoided. Some programs don't find/like df2: if you don't have df1: Sometimes a simple assign df1: df2: may help, but sometimes there's problems. I don't have the program assigndev (no direct access to Fish disks), so the assign is done to the disk currently in df2:. Could somebody email me the program, please? Some two-diskette games are so packed, that you really can't add the assign command, and it's not so funny editing original disks. Are there any other solutions ? (hardware strapping, preboot with some sort of assigndev that stays in the memory after warm reboot)
