I'm used to that in Pullman, WA but I expected Spokane (80 miles) would have them. instead Seattle area was the closest (I hope that will change). Any how, I ordered a color mega 2 (by phone i sure was'nt going to drive there). Acourding to the dealer it has a blitter in it and that the new ones he's getting some do and some don't have the blitter. Oh, by the way no-one tryed to sell me a laser printer for it so i'm sure Atari isn't trying force the dealer to buy one with every mega they buy. It's true you cannot get a mega mail order. The dealers I talked (the ones that had megas) said the new requirements weren't that much problem but the ones who were without Megas did kinda bark about it. I was able to do a little bargaining and I think got a fair price. BUT, it was more than I thought I'ld be paying. It made the choice between a Mac and ST more difficult but availble color, blitter, 2 meg, compatilbity with MS-DOS discs (which they force me to use at work) won out in the end. Another important factor was the cost of software I plan to be legal and buy software that I use, this alone would have made a Mac at LEAST $600 more expensive. (Yes, I know there is software on the Mac that is more capable, but the gap is closeing ;) Bye Bruce Heimbigner Email: Snail mail: HEIMBIG@WSUVM1.bitnet N.W. 324 True Street Pullman WA 99163-3347 (USA) ----"It's all very well in practice, but in theory it just doesn't work."
