Well I know the problem exists with the version of SH204 that I bought
(full price of $800!) two years ago.   It's a bug in the PAL.  I got
a fix for it from Berkeley Micro Systems (415) 465-6956.  The BMS fix
consists of a replacement PAL which plugs in a socket on the SH204
host adapter board.  I've been using the BMS PAL for several months
with absolutely no problems.

Disclaimer:  I am not tied to BMS, except that in the past
I have sold their BMS-100 host adapters to some of my customers.
