I want to avoid using EDIT or APPEND so I can do more complete error checking. However, I cannot figure out a way to input memo fields except by using these commands. If I try something like @5,10 GET memofield READ the memo field name is drawn in reverse video on the screen but when I do a ctrl-pgdn to invoke the memo field editor, nothing happens. However, if I make a format file containing these statements and do SET FORMAT TO formatfile EDIT the control-pagedown does work. As I said though, I don't want to use EDIT. Am I doing something wrong or is EDIT et al the only way to input a memo field? Is there another way to input a memo field that I'm overlooking? BTW, I know Clipper would solve my problems, but my boss wants to maintain dBase compatibility... Any comments would be appreciated. -- Peter Steele, Microcomputer Applications Analyst Acadia University, Wolfville, NS, Canada B0P1X0 (902)542-2201x121 UUCP: {uunet|watmath|utai|garfield}dalcs!aucs!Peter BITNET: Peter@Acadia Internet: Peter%Acadia.BITNET@CUNYVM.CUNY.EDU
