Maybe you get a free upgrade...  According to the customer service rep
at the phone number given on the upgrade notice, you MUST submit a
copy of your store receipt from when you bought the product.  Being
a registered owner on or after the magic date is NOT sufficient.

Something to do with the registration being handled by one part of
the company, and the upgrade by another as I understood it.  So if
you didn't save your receipt, it appears you must pay the upgrade
fee, even if your copy is only a few weeks (days) old.
