I doubt Make sure you allow the Mother Board to cool down for a good period of time. I got my upgrade, turned off my computer, and threw that sucker in there. I also had problems getting it to seat, I had to push REAL hard to get it to clamp on. Well I installed another one the next week on a cool mother board and it snapped on with just about the right amount of pressure.
