One feature I wish they had included in the Ethernet transceiver connector is a remotely-triggerable disconnect, similar to the explosively-driven bolt and cable cutters used on space launchers. (One was featured in 2010 as HAL's "emergency pull".) I'd wire them all to a big panel in my office. Then the next time somebody's broken host software sends out a bogus broadcast packet, I'd turn the switch, and... Phil
