I am planning to purchase a Mac in the near future and need some advice on
the following:

1) What are recommendations regarding a C compiler/development system ?
   I would like something that includes an Assembler and library 
   utilities if available.

2) How do I get information concerning program development for the 
   Mac ? Is there a developer's kit available ? Is there documentation
   available in bookstores etc. ?

Any advice is greatly appreciated,
