It gives a choice: In line mode communication is fast, but none of the cbreak applications (vi, rn, more, etc.) are really usable. In char mode, it sends one char a second - painful! I understand there may be a configurable option (IAH sequence?) giving a mode where telnet will batch all chars received within a certain timeslot. Can anyone help?
