Keywords: emacstool sun Message-ID: <216@fed.FRB.GOV> Date: 28 Jul 88 12:48:02 GMT Organization: Federal Reserve Board, Washington, DC Lines: 28 At my work we use Gnu Emacs running on Sun workstations (3/50's and 3/60's). Emacstool provides an excellent mouse interface to Gnu Emacs. The problem is the normal "put" and "get" commands used to cut and paste between windows, does not work between an emacstool window and any other Sun windows (suntools or cmdtools). Emacstool's sun-get-selection and sun-select-region commands work as described, but are not able to access the sunwindow shelf. I will try and implement cutting and pasting between an emacstool window and another Sun window myself. The suntools command get_selection, retrieves the current sunwindow selection and seems like a good place to get started. But before I waste any time, has anyone found a way to cut and paste between an emacstool window and another Sun window? I think this would add a great deal of functionality to the suntools environment. Post answers or mail directly to me -- uunet!fed!m1tag00 Thanx. Tim Grunwald (202) 452-2403 uunet!fed!m1tag00
