Sorry for asking (I am not really in the graphics business), but what is SIXEL?

     as we are using a DataProducts printer, and it supports interleaf ... but
     none of our "off the shelf" software does.  besides
     postscript <--> Interleaf other "more common/basic" things as plot10,
