i just recently aquired the book _fortran 8x explained_
by metcalf and reid, oxford press 1987. (i highly recomend it.) 

i have an alliant that uses the 8x std (although i haven't checked 
to see how close it abides to it) and would like to use 8x on the 
other machines.  so....  i was wandering if there were any implementations
of 8x available for vaxen and suns (3 and 4).  

a sun4 implementation is my main concern because this machine is my other
compute server.  

(i realize that the std is not fixed yet, so the implentations might not
be completely compatable.)
