Bravo!  No matter how much I respected you before, it pales in comparison
to how much I respect you now.

Calm, rational, yet wistful, your letter says exactly what I would have
said, if I could have.  No anger, no contempt, just - disappointment.

Most of us have already given up on BYTE, but your letter, at least, will
make them understand the cost of the path they have chosen.  Thank you very
much for posting it here.
