For instance, I'd like to transfer a VMS object file to a TOPS-20 system then to a second VMS system for linking purposes. Or perhaps use 5.25 inch floppies in DOS formats to store the object, carry the floppy to another site to load it onto another VAX. I imagine I could convert the object to an ASCII format, store or transfer it in the ASCII format, then convert it back. Can I use the CONVERT utility for this? Perhaps put it in a BACKUP save set? I think I need something like UUCODE/UUDECODE that considers the file type formats. Thanks in advance, -- George Toshio Suematsu | uucp: ...{trwrb,hplabs}!felix!dhw68k!toshio Cypress, California, USA | InterNet: toshio@dhw68k.cts.com
