Fowler" Organization: The Internet Lines: 27 We have been experimenting with an electronic mail product called EMC2 from Fisher which runs in the MVS/JES environment. Fisher claims to have a "BITNET" interface to the product, which we have installed. However, we have a couple of problems: it does not set the class and the filename/type of the output file correctly (EMCB OUTPUT), and it uses "username@node.BITNET" in the To: field, which causes some mailers to choke (notably jnet). The problem with the filetype of the routed output file being OUTPUT is the biggest ... most mail clients don't recognize it as mail. Is anyone else running EMC2 in the BITNET environment? How did you cope with these problems? Is Fisher simply doing false advertising? Their claim is that they have a BSMTP interface for their VM version of the product; however, I can't run that one (for reasons I'd prefer not to discuss ....). They do not plan to do it soon for MVS. Any assistance on dealing with getting mail out of MVS/JES environment is appreciated.
