We're implementing a TCP/IP-based terminal server in our switch, and we're thinking of making it compatible with the DOMAIN NAME SERVER architecture. We'd like to know (for ARPAnet connected sites), what "typical" times are to resolve a name that exists, and one that doesn't (that is, one that has to go all the way up to the NIC and get bounced).
