I am looking for a program that will dial a remote system (like tip)
but will let you pipe its output to where ever you want to.

The tip I have requires file descriptor 0 to be a tty so if I try to
run it from cron, it quits.

I have a small program that converts the data from the Naval Observatory clock
in Washington DC to UNIX time but I need a way to place the call from cron
once a day and pipe the data into my program.
