(Yes I know about the problems with loading apollo programs over NFS. I am after backup, printer, and mail access.) b) remote commands: I would like to be able to issue commands on the VMS system with input data coming from the apollo and output coming back to the apollo. c) remote process communication: I would like to be able to communicate between a process running on the apollo and one running under VMS. I need at least a) and would like b) and c). I have literature on an apollo product called VAX/Access and would like to converse with anyone who has had experience with it. Will this product meet my needs? Are there any other similar products I should look into? The VMS system currently has Decnet/Ethernet but no TCP/IP, which is a requirement for VAX/Access. I understand TCP/IP will coexist with Decnet. One quote on TCP/IP software from Network Fusion is $3900US. Does anyone know of cheap/free TCP/IP software for VMS? NFS software for VMS? Thank you in advance to all who reply. Thanks also to those who replied to my last posting (new apollo user).
