My AT-clone gives error code 1714 'drive not ready' but I suppose that 1714 is a common ec for all kinds of disk errors. My hd controller (based on Western Digital chips) is ok (I've tested it with an other drive). I am very interested in getting my hard disk working again with very little costs. Does anybody have any kinds of suggestions what to do. Is it possible to buy hd-drive logic boards as a spare part ? Should I try to low-level-format my drive (where to get program ?) ? Please write to comp.sys.ibm.pc or e-mail. Thanx,
