I had a similar error with a miniscribe hard disk when the disk motor
was not turning the platters at the proper speed.  It should have been
at 3600 RPM, but was more like 30 RPM.  It's in the shop right now,
so I don't know exactly what's wrong, but you get the idea, I'm sure.
