You said that you already owned an Amiga. If it is an Amiga 2000 then your best bet would be to stick with it and get a card for it called the BridgeBoard. It allows you to run MS-DOS programs at the same speed (4.77 mhz) as a PC. I think that the card is also available for the Amiga 1000 and maybe even the 500.
