Keywords: bait and switch Message-ID: <951@houxs.UUCP> Date: 25 Jul 88 22:18:01 GMT Organization: AT&T Data Systems Group, Holmdel, NJ Lines: 16 I decided it was finally time to buy the ROM/disk upgrade for my aging 512K Mac (3 years 3 months on the original power supply!) so I called my local "friendly" Apple dealer (whose name I won't mention) to arrange for the upgrade. When the tech called me back, she claimed that the ROM/disk upgrade was no longer available from Apple (she mumbled something about not being able to find it on the price list). Now, is this true, or is this dealer just trying to "coax" me into buying a whole new system from them? Can anyone shed light? I'd especially like to have part numbers, prices, whatever, so that when I write my scathing letter to the main office of the store's chain (with a copy to Apple too, of course) I can substantiate my claims.
