This should solve the problem. (Yes, I know, only two or three of those keys need to be pressed to rebuild the desktop. But there are so many programs that make use of some arcane keypress combination that I have forgotten the specific keys for "rebuild the desktop," but I know that if I hit them all, it will work...)
