When it writes the material to a text file, it goes through every field, 20 total in this version and 1 bkgnd, writes the card to a temp variable, goes to the next card and adds it to the it to the text file on the hard disk. My question is: how fast should the save be? I have twenty cards each with twenty fields, if the field is empty, it is skipped. Right now it is taking a second per card!! This seems really slow, can anyone out there help a beginner? There must be some clever loop, or something to save time doing the save, cuz 1 sec/card is forever with a 400 card stack. Help me!! I am using Jim's id to post this until I get my own id. So send him the answers and he will pass them on. Thanks in advance from a first time logonner(?) -- Jim Gogan mail:ugogan@ecsvax (UUCP/BITNET) Microcomputing Support Center University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Chapel Hill, NC 27599
