Right now when I use the read command on a Word file, I get all sorts of formatting codes in the text. For a short piece this is not too bad, but if there is a xfnc or xcmd which will strip the file of control codes as it is read into the card field, this will make things much easier for me. I am not able to program this myself, so I am not looking for source code: I need the real thing!! This will be used in a reader/note-taking card embedded in my bibliography stack. The idea is for the reader to be able to open a Word file, copy pieces from it, and paste those pieces into the Notes field of the apppropriate card/bib entry. Thanks for any help or suggestions. I am using Jim's ID only temporarily, so please send m mail to ucpage@tucc.bitnet. She will pass on any messages to me.
