To stop the vanilla "mail" or "mailx" commands from scrolling a message off the screen, issue the command set page=22 either in your .mailrc file or at the beginning of each mail session. BTW, if you're not sure of how to setup a .mailrc file, see the XENIX User Reference manual pages for "mail". Any of the "set" options may be placed in a .mailrc file.
