this is definitely something we could find an immediate use for if someone
were to come up with it.  we might even be interested in having a hand in 
making it happen but can not do it ourselves ('cause we got a lot to do
already :-) ).

white pines software (?boston) sounds like they are working on something
but i understand it is going to be serial lines only, at least initially.
so i'm echoing george's call for info on anyone pursuing this project.
