No... the phrase should read "If the ONLY reason for being impolite and rude to someone in a certain way *is because of* their religion, race...sex, then it MAY be discriminatory depending upon the circumstances involved". Otherwise, the only thing that the offender may be guilty of is rudeness or bad taste. How come the members of the Ku Klux Klan don't get sued for calling black people 'niggers'??? The people that are refusing to call you 'he' and 'him' are probably doing so because of YOU, Mark, not because they discriminate against women. The bulk of them are probably tired of listening to all your crap. Why don't you grow up, change your attitute, try being civil to everyone on the net (even the men), and see if that doesn't bring about a change in the whole situation?!?!? > If you do it from a site of which you are am employee, and I happen > to be a customer, such as, for example, AT&T, you could be reprimanded > or penalized if I file a complaint. Oh, I suppose you could call in a complaint on anyone, at any company, for any reason, customer or not... except for my company :-) You would be complaining to me :-) > One person has done that several > times, and I had hoped not to have to file a complaint, but they do > not wish to stop putting their company in a position of liability, > so I may have to file a complaint in order to get that person's > harassment to stop. In the first place, nobody is putting anybody's company in any position of liability by picking on you. I know that this fact is hard for you to live with. If I worked for AT&T (or whoever you seem to be threatening to contact), I would probably like it if you called my supervisor to complain. After he talked with you, I am sure that I would never have anything to worry about from your future complaining :-) Another thing... nobody's going to sue you, unless you file a lawsuit (of a frivolous and harassing nature) against them. They have no more of a cause of action against you than you have against them. Nobody has a "right" to "kick someone in the face", including you, Mark.
