I understand that the "traditional" method of presenting a structure (I am NOT a chemist) is a hand drawn diagram with typed or lettered symbols for each atom/basic structure. I have been approached by the NCI for possible help with the scanning and interpretation of typed or printed structures by a computer-based system. My questions to the Net: 1) Any of you doing anything like this already? 2) Is there a standardized (or accepted) form of representing chemical structures in a computer database? 3) Can any of you point me to a [semi]complete list of the new chemical structure software packages? I have seen a few so far. 4) Can any of you point me to any good bibliographies in the above topics? Any and all help is greatly appreciated! -- Charles Lord cjl@ecsvax.UUCP Usenet Cary, NC cjl@ecsvax.BITNET Bitnet #include #include
