The dead battery is a 3.6V lithium battery, that is soldered (!) in place. I remember someone discussing this some time ago, but can't find the discussion (if I saved it). I'd like to avoid de-soldering, and would like to install a battery holder to avoid soldering, as well. Does anyone have any suggestions as to the procedure? The current battery is made by Tadiran; searching through my Newark catalog, they are the only ones to make a battery of the right size and voltage--for about $7.50. Thanks for any help. Send e-mail, or post, if you think this is of general interest. PB Schechter pb@cs.wisc.edu
