Nearly. It was created by MOS Technology which sometimes confusingly went by MOSTech; I believe they were based in the East. Mostek was a Dallas-based company that is now part of Thompson CSF or whatever the name is after the latest merger. Mostek's fortes were the 68000, the F8, DRAMs, FIFOs, and VMEbus.
