I try not get religious about my liking for FORTH, but sometimes my enthusiasm gets the better of me . . . To get away from discussions of FORTH vs X, can I ask you to elaborate a bit on the concept of 'local variables'? I understand how to implement the multiple code field variable (another one of those 'should have been obvious' concepts), but I don't have a clear picture of how a 'local variable' works. Discussions of FORTH programming techniques is something I would like to see more of on the newsgroup. Andre Pirard's posting gave me some good ideas, and now yours. Anybody else have favorite 'cute tricks' and nice constructs? -- R. David Murray (DAVID@PENNDRLS.BITNET, DAVID@PENNDRLS.UPENN.EDU)
