One of the Z80K designers (no longer working there) said that the 80K was
built, it worked (at 10MHz), and you should be able to buy it- under a
different number (Z320?). I believe it is being marketed as a very cheap
($/MIP) kind of processor.

So.. I repeat, the Z80K is not dead, just renamed. I think.
