Perhaps this will be sufficient. Soft faults occur at memory speeds. Hard faults occur at disk speeds. With high speed processors such as the 6000 and 8000 series, the time for a hard fault is an eon compared to the time for a soft fault. Always tune for fewer hard faults. Ed
