When starting up RN (patch level #40) on a user file system that is full,
I get the usual "/user: Write error: file system full" or whatever the
kernel (CCI 6/32 Sys V 3.0) says.

Fine.  The annoying thing is, both my .newsrc and .oldnewsrc got linked
together (!!!), and truncated (!!!).  This is reasonably repeatable.

Known bug, Larry?  Known fix, anyone?
