Prior to VMS version 4.4, we were using a Unix program originally
written by John Douglas Carey that would read VMS Backup format tapes.
Unfortunately, DEC changed the format of the "Backup" tapes so that now
our "vmsbackup" program no longer works.

Unfortunately, we have not been able to get details about the format change
from our DEC representative.

Does anyone have a fix or information about the format change so we could try
to fix the problem?  If so, please e-mail to me and I will post a fixed
version if we get it working again.
