I don't remember if you said IW I or II.  Anyway, I have an IW II that I
installed the buffer in.  It turned out to be very important to make
sure it seated tightly on the plastic clips.  If it didn't it was if it
wasn't there.  I assume you did throw whatever switch it was that you
are supposed to throw.
