Dear Dennis -
	Apple returned marketting rights to MDS to Bill and Consulair, but 
retained rights to Edit and other parts of the old MDS package (MacDB is
an example).
	The contract is long and involved, and it would not be proper to 
discuss it here on the net, but the bottom line is that Apple has rights
to Edit 2.0/2.1 and it cannot be freely redistributed as public domain
software.
