Then click on the icon of the alarm clock in the lower right. Then click on the button in the middle and on the left. This turns the alarm off. The beep you heard was the alarm (the exact time it went off) and the blinking Apple is to tell you that the alarm went off even if the Mac was not on at the time. Hope this helps.
