I saw an advertisement recently for the following drive in a local computer
newspaper.... 

1Gbyte  5.25"  Erasable Optical Disk Drive
Average seek time 30mS
Read/write storage - claimed to be erasable and fast.

The drive is called the TAHITI from Maxtor. The price was not quoted.
