A short transcript (slightly abbreviated to keep it very short) of a conversation overheard in a hallway late last week between 2 students, both about to get their degrees; one an MS, the other a BS. [Both were discussing the MS student's plans for PhD work, then:] MS: So you're going to for your Master's? BS: You bet! It took them SO long to get my acceptance letter back. More than 2 months! MS: Uh-huh, I know, it took a long time for me when I applied here, too. Not quite that long, though. BS: Well, I'm all set now - I leave a week from Monday so I can go apartment-hunting. MS: And you're going to be doing your work in ? BS: Yeah. I looked at , and finally decided on . turned me down - my gradepoint was a bit too low, I understand. accepted me, too, but I decided the climate was just too cold... MS: I hear that - I used to live there. [pause] Say, Rutgers is supposed to have a pretty good program in that area. Did you apply there? BS: I didn't know that, but *no*, I didn't apply there! Not as long as that Webber is still there and making a of himself. You never know who you might have to take a course from!
