mike,

	one of the things mike wexler does is to post info about the archive
sites for comp.sources.x. there are two sites that can be currently accessed
(with more coming up).  my site runs the netlib server - you can access
it by sending mail to 
		archives%mcf.uucp@umix.cc.umich.edu
and add the lines
		send index from comp.sources.x
or try saying
		send v01i006 from comp.sources.x
