Lines: 34 ["pardon me ma'am, do you have an operator's license for that Rhino?"] Here's an interesting little thing I found in the Cleveland Amiga User's Group newsletter "The Amiga GURU", August 1988. . . "Commodore announced on August 1st the introduction of the Viking 1, a 19 inch high-resolution monochrome monitor for the Amiga. . . The new monitor is a result of a joint development between Commodore and Moniterm, a leading manufacturer of high-resolution monitors. "The new Viking 1 monitor features 1008x800x2 bits resolution, 72 mhz pixel frequency and 56 Khz horizontal frequency. With it's 19.6 inch diagonal screen the monitor weighs 36 pounds. . . "The monitor will be available in late August, 1988 [from Moniterm]. . . and will have a suggested retail price of $1995. (this is from an official C-A press release) I gather that C-A is supplying Moniterm Hedly boards which they just stick inside their box. After looking a the Hedly monitor, while it's really sharp and all, it's just a bit too small, so I'm glad to see one of these big guys become available (especially since I'm spoiled by the Sun 19" monitors at work). happy hi-resing! -- *** mike (starship janitor) smithwick *** "You can fool some of the people all of the time, or all of the people some of the time, but you can't fool Mom".
