I don't know anything about what kickstart does, but I do know what I have
been doing.  I got a pd cutie from our local library called changekickstart
and use it to switch to 1.1 and back whenever I need to use WB 1.1 (as in
transformer).  I have my 1.2 operating system in ASDG's RRD on one of their
8 meg boards (mini rack c and stock A1000) and it is always there when I
switch back.  I cold start my amiga about once a month or less.
