CRAFT contains a very good shell (called "GPshell") and editor (called "STedi"), the last one completely written in assembler (FAST!). The "GPshell" is almost 100% csh compatible. It is even possible to use a slash as the default path separator! History, commandline editing with cursor keys, I/O redirection, pipes, aliases, REAL pattern matching, filename completion, if-then-else, foreach, switch: GPshell has it all. Plus a lot of utilities: an integrated make, format, time, built-in ramdisk & disk cache, fgrep, etc etc. One of the (many) excellent features of "STedi" is a very powerful and flexible tab handler. You can set tabs anywhere you want (for example tab stops at position 4, 6, 9, 15, 30 & 40). There is also a command to replace spaces by tabs or vice-versa. Using a special FORTRAN wrap-line mode, it is even possible to let STedi automatically insert the continuation character this language needs. CRAFT comes with an extensive manual (in english, over 600 pages) and costs Fl 395,- (about $200). The manufacturer is: ComMedia Leidsekade 98 NL-1017 PP Amsterdam The Netherlands tel. 020-231740 Daan Josephus Jitta ( neabbs!daanjj@telmail.uucp ) Disclaimer: I have nothing to do with ComMedia, I'm only a VERY satisfied beta tester.
