I thought I'd mention that so far (fingers crossed, knocking wood)
I've had no trouble at all, including a night where I uploaded just
shy of 600K worth of files.  I am using UniTerm v2.0.6 on an Atari
1040 STf, nov 85 ROMs, and talking to a VAX 11-785 running VAX/VMS 4.5
using Kermit-32 version 3.1.066, everything in default settings.  I
should also mention that all files were ASCII, not binary.
